Communication YEP Intern ('s-Gravenhage)

Introduction

The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) has an immediate opening for an intern, preferably for four days a week. Would you like to gain experience while studying in working with both the private sector, NGOs, research foundations and Governments? Are you interested in a dynamic environment in which sustainability, entrepreneurship, politics and international cooperation go hand in hand? In this internship, you are sure to encounter all of these elements.

Organization

Young Expert Programmes (YEP) were established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch Water Partnership and the Food & Business Knowledge Platform, to guarantee international professionalism and expertise in the water and agri-food sector, in the future too. YEP Programmes consists of YEP Water, YEP Agrofood and YEP Energy. In these programs, young Dutch professionals can gain experience abroad, and young local professionals can take their first steps in an international working environment through Dutch organisations. YEP thus contributes to a dynamic international network in the water, agri-food and energy sector, and makes it accessible to a new generation of experts.

Function

Within YEP Programmes, you are involved in facilitating communication for different target groups. During your internship, you will be working together in a dynamically composed team and with other NWP colleagues, based in our office in The Hague, and you will have frequent contact with organisations in the extensive water, agri-food and energy sector, ministries and training bodies.

Requirements

We are looking for a hard-working intern with excellent communication skills to support us in varied assignments:

  • Maintaining national and international contacts with specific target groups, including the Young Experts via Skype/Basecamp etc.
  • Attending (also preparation and reporting) of meetings and presentations
  • Web content management (of www.yepprogrammes.com)
  • Updating social media channels
  • Support with the introduction of YEP information, a new relations management system
  • Approaching concerned parties and collecting information about initiatives or results on which to communicate via the websites, newsletter, social media, etc.


What we want:

  • Relevant field of study (e.g. (International) Communication Management)
  • Fast and accurate use of various media
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in Dutch and English
  • A broad interest in all facets of the labour market
  • Good social skills, environmental awareness/ organizational sensitivity and representativity
  • A stress-resistant and flexible work attitude
